New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

so I wanted to post photos to share, and talk about how to get into shows, and if I did what I need... but now I am struggling to price my items.. please help, or just say we are all in the same boat so I don't feel so alone!!! 😀😀😁😁😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am honestly giving up on making this pattern. Terry did a fabulous job on helping me and instructing me on this but, Iwhen I try to compile it I get the weirdest looking pattern possible. I just don't understand it.

Priya,
You're so welcome!
Blending
filament is a very, very thin thread, a with sparkle to it. If you
buy from Kreinik it will likely be supplied on a thin spool. The
idea behind it is to give your project a sparkle, or perhaps a
sparkle with a tint. Unless you go for the braid version, your
project probably calls for a single ply of filament along with your
normal two ply of floss (or whatever your project calls
for).
It isn't easy to work with, but if
you're just using it for a smaller group of stitches, it shouldn't
be too vexing. (I used it on a huge project and ended up abandoning
it for way too long because even though it looks gorgeous, it's
definitely a royal pain. Someday I'll pick it up again, but maybe
in smaller amounts of time before taking short breaks in between
working on it.)
Long ago I saw a pattern
made up with one strand of pearl blending filament and two strands
of white floss, to create a snowy field. The effect was gorgeous.
The snow sparkled the way real freshly fallen snow
sparkles.
So as much of a pain it is, it
definitely is worth the effort.
DMC used to
(decades ago) have a spool of a sort-of blending filament (sold on
a regular thread spool), but it doesn't sparkle like the Kreinik.
IMO, the Kreinik is more suited to such a project because this is
exactly what it's made for.
Hope that
helps!
Lauren,
A half cross stitch is
basically working your stitches only one way, instead of returning
and working the second slants over them to turn them into the X
shape. So half cross stitches end up looking kind of like
this:
/ / / / / / /
only they'll be a little different, as these slashes are
a font and not a stitch, so they're not being stitched on squares,
LOL.
I agree, Shaleigh's project looks
totally amazing!
Hello Melanie,
Thank you! I can't
wait to get started!
Yes, my son loves MTG!
