New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Hello, I am new to this site. I was recently on Pinterest and I found a mickey mouse cross stitch that I would like to start, but I can't read the color key. It is the one of Mickey sitting and the key is very hard to read. Anyone know where I can find it? It was made on this site. Thank you in advance!

Hi guys,
I have a workaround for anyone that wants to do this before you guys integrate it into the software. My graph looks stretched, but by my calculation it will be perfect when I crochet it.
My stitch ratio is 0.875 rather than 1. My photo was 415 pixels wide and 500 pixels tall. I used GIMP (free from Gimp.org) to alter my photo size. 500/0.875 = 571. So I altered my photo to 415 pixels wide and 571 pixels tall. I then used this stretched picture with the tunisian square crochet pattern maker. I got a pattern that is 150 stitches wide by 207 stitches tall. Without alteration, the pattern was 150 x 181. 207 * 0.875 = 181 so my math seems to check out.
It will be MONTHS before I have a finished pattern to double check, but I'm confident this will work. My pattern looks funny - I'm sure when you guys get this done you will leave the picture the right size ad change the grid itself so it doesn't look funny. But this will work for now!

Hi,
I am new so what I am asking may be old news to others. I want to create a pattern which fits on one page, however when I review the pattern it is on anything from 3 pages to 10 pages - is there anyway I can do fit to page?
CathyJessy,
The program requires your device to have a function called "filepicker". Your original iPad does not have this function.
Unfortunately if your device does not have the ability to choose files and send them to remote systems (like the freePatternWizard), you will not be able to send a graphics file.
You would need to either be able to install some sort of application (app) that adds this "filepicker" function or use another device.
The problem is not on the freePatternWizard side. The issue is with your device. You may also try asking at an Apple message board.

Secoya,
It looks like we have
similar tastes...I like this piece so far!
Your stitching
on the hat doesn't look at all lumpy to me.
Ouch, white on
white is as hard to see as working on dark cloth!
LOL, this is what I always do...I work on many projects
at once. If I get bored, I put one down and pick up the other.
Anyway, whatever your process is, there's nothing wrong with it.
Find what works for you and stick with
it! If that means working on several projects at one time, there's
nothing wrong with that!
