New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

I'm trying to find out if someone can tell me the number of beads (seed beads size 10) it takes to go around a bic with brick stitch?
Haha yes! I have three overflowing folders of them that weigh around five pounds each. I promise you that I am not exaggerating! I agree that it is hard at first but soon come naturally. My best cross-stitch friend, who I introduced to cross stitch, figured it out before I did-just by reading instructions! Thank you for your kind post.
Welcome!
We're still looking into it...we've been dealing with other issues that have cropped up and there's another issue that's taking our attention right now. Word charts for beading are definitely near the top of our list!
The reason illusion knitting has word charts is because this is purely mathematical. Peyote, as you know, isn't. So it will require some extra attention.
Please bear with us, and sorry for the inconvenience.
Amandy,
While working with different manufacturers it's still been difficult for us to get direct information when colors have been discontinued. If you know of colors that have been discontinued, please do let us know so we can update our information.

I know it has been a while since this was posted, but I
thought I would throw in my 2 cents.
I was
in the exact position as you a little while ago. I ended up doing a
few small projects first. I did the starter Pokemon, before
starting a huge piece with Lady Sylvanas from WoW. I had not
stitched since middle school so this was for me to figure out if I
like it. But to be honest, I figured out things like cloth and
thread once I was planning the big project, not really before.
You could start with just a more pixelated
image of the Spiderman mask for example? It could be just one days
work, something big enough to be a drink coaster. And then tackle
something big.
If you do start a big
project, I would encourage you to post to the WIP (work in
progress) part of the forum, so we can cheer you on.
