New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

I'm trying to make a pattern out of one of my wedding photos but it keeps making our faces too pixely and not fully formed enough to even look like faces. I'm not complaining, this is an amazing site and has opened up so many doors for me. I just want to be able to use it to the best of my ability. Help please!
Hello, I'm so happy to have found a way to create crochet patterns here using single crochet stitch...Is there any way I can use the patterns I create for C2C crocheting?
Debbie,
Loving all of these ideas...brilliant!
Thinking Garnstudio would have some interesting charts. They're my favorite "go to" for free patterns...
Fo instance, this pattern has lace, and it does have charts:

I'd especially love to learn about using charts to modify patterns. I'm almost always modifying patterns, because my vision is usually different than a particular pattern.
As for a chart to decode, that would be nice, too. Perhaps a pattern that's a bit less complex than the lace pattern above?
How exciting...thank you for doing this!

Janet,
LOL, what a coincidence,
I'm on my 325th project, too!
No, you're not a
dufas. If it's your first time seeing a large graph, it would be
very, very confusing.
Remember that if
you're going from a word chart, the left-right rows are reversed
for you; it's only in the graph itself that you have to reverse
your reading of it. Also, in a word chart it starts at row 1
instead of the top, since a word chart isn't a visual pattern the
way a graph is.
Glad to hear
I've been able to help you!
Sherry,
Of course you want to
make a profit! And making a profit doing what you love
is always best!
