New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

1st I love this program... I'm so glad I found it... But I am trying to make a few throw blankets and a couple queen sized blankets.... Is there a way to get a larger graph? 150 stitches is an awfully small blanket...

Hi,

Here are a few ideas.

1. Try selecting 5c "Limit the number of colors" and set a number like 7.

2. Try setting section 8 "Color sensitivity" to a higher number.  You may want to bring this number up to something like 100 or 200 and see what that does.  The results vary by image so there's no magic number.  If it's better, try a larger or smaller number and see if you like one better than another.

3. Choose section 5 "I will choose my colors" and select exact colors you'd like.  This would allow you to define the number of colors and tell it to only choose the given ones.

4. Varying brightness and/or contrast will also vary the number of colors but this is not really their main use.

5. You can also try a combination of the above.  (If you choose "I will choose my colors" in section 5, you will not be able to use 5c).

Let us know whether this helps.

Thank you I am very pleased that you like them. Yes, I did create these patterns myself and you can find them in the link above. <3 Yes, the green one is a pokemon. It's Shiny Teddiursa Smiley I made it from this image.

We just made a major update to the DMC palette!

Recently we've been getting more comments regarding the colors used in cross stitch when the DMC palette is selected.  A few people have mentioned that the overall stitched item was coming out too green.  Others have mentioned that the colors "just didn't look right".

We just totally rebuilt the palette (almost all 454 colors) with much more accurate colors.  This will immediately start rendering patterns that look much better.  When making the updates, I could see some image grays would wind up stitching green.  At least one green caused the program to choose a yellow floss.  There were many, many colors that were not right.

Going through the entire palette, we made many color corrections.  At the same time we also brought the color descriptions up to date and they now all match the official color list from DMC.

We also rebuilt the DMC "shades of gray" palette so this is also updated.

Let me know if you find problems.

Terry

Kitti,

I answered your question here:

To reiterate, we do not give you a word document; rather, your PDF document contains your pattern in words.  That's because some people prefer to read words instead of a graph.
