New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

Hi, I'm new here, I've been crocheting for a few years now and want to try a grapha, on the explanation it says standard stitch, what is the standard stitch? Single crochet? And can you make it with c2c? Thx in advance

Hi my name is gloshei and just joined this group so still finding mopey way around. Has anyone any tips on how to get started please.
I love beading but by no means an expert but saw on a group in Facebook that a lady was beading her son and another her daughters wedding picture. Ah I thought what a brilliant idea ( my daughter got married in June) what am I thinking as I don't know where to start.
I'm sure you will advise and help me on this long journey
Cheers gloshei

Debbie,

So happy you don't have to give up knitting entirely.  Smile  I have fond memories of loom knitting...my first loom was many years ago, something called the "Apple Pie Knitter," and I made Barbie clothes with it.  I've often thought of trying to build my own loom of a similar size to the Apple Pie Knitter, so I can try to recreate the enjoyment of making doll skirts on a loom.  Oh, the memories!  Smile

I am 71 years old and have been crocheting for about 60 years. My nephew found this marvelous resource for me. I am completely self-taught and, I suppose, I am an advanced crocheter.

In my spare time, I teach at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio. I am an English and music teacher, and I have a crochet club where the members crochet scarves and hats for the homeless. The majority of my members are boys on the various varsity sports teams--amazing!

I am very interested in designing my own grid patterns, and would like to know that letter fonts best suit the grid. Currently, I am working on a design of an afghan for my nephew's marching band that includes the school's mascot an Native American chief's head, and I would like to include the initials for the school PHS, and the words MARCHING BAND. Any help with the font would be much appreciated.

Finally, I have masted the art of crochet cabling: so if anyone needs that kind of assistance, let me know.

Neave,

It really should be, but it's not.  Frown  There are too many people who entirely lack empathy for others.  Frown
