New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Yes, I do love baking. And thank you, I will keep that in mind. 😆
Tanya,
Welcome!
We recommend that you actually don't use the Stitchboard Full Palette. The reason is it was never meant for yarn colors at all. Unfortunately, yarn manufacturers will likely never make a lot of colors, because then they'd get stuck with many that wouldn't sell well. It's sad for knitters and crocheters, but that's how it works, unfortunately. The Full Palette was mainly meant for offbeat embroidery floss colors and bead palettes, which have hundreds of colors and not only tens of colors.
Instead, we do recommend using the Stitchboard Basic Palette, as many of these will translate better to basic yarn manufacturers' palettes. There is a dearth of yarn color choices out there, so even in those palettes many colors aren't represented, but you'll be able to match more of them than with the Stitchboard Full Palette, which will be next to impossible to match for most of the colors.
I'm sorry to say there's no easy answer, but unless manufacturers someday really want to offer a large variety of colors, the Basic Palette is the better choice for patterns.
Amy,
Welcome!
You're correct...it should be numbered bottom to top. I thought it had been changed, but obviously not! LOL, but please put on more coffee...everything is always better after a nice hot cup!
Seriously, I'll alert Terry (Support) about this. In the meantime, my suggestion would be to start from the bottom. (Not that there's anything "wrong" with starting from the top, just that it would seem a bit odd, as most knitting is worked bottom up, not top down.)
Thanks for letting us know!
Hi there,
I'm running across the same problem. I'm finding a little bit of luck in resizing the image. If you are using iOS you can download an image resizing app for free. I hope this helps.

Henny,
Tanya,
