New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Lizzi,
Welcome!
Goodness, I can't imagine working off of an Excel spreadsheet! Like you found, my counts and stitches would likewise be a mess.
I can make a suggestion that we add conversions from Excel spreadsheets to word charts to the freePatternWizard, but the final determination would have to be made by our programmer as to whether or not this is possible.
tweedle dee phoned nicky's cell phone yesterday and went i wanna come round nicky his reply was no go to hell your not welcome
Thank you for the explanation.
Robin,
Welcome!
One thing I strongly suggest is to use the Stitchboard Basic Palette instead of the full palette. The Basic Palette is there because a lot of colors simply aren't an option in yarns.
BTW, feel free to post pics of your work, even if those items weren't made with the freePatternWizard...we love to drool!

Ksulliv,
Welcome!
I'm sorry to
say turning a pattern into a different type of pattern isn't an
option. The freePatternWizard is only set up to make a pattern from
an image. To use a chart would actually confuse it, because it's
not able to recognize symbols, just spit them out.
If it's not a super huge pattern, perhaps the pattern
with regular rectangular stitches instead of square could be done
without skewing it?
