New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

Secoya,
LOL, I know you're not exaggerating, because I suffer from the same addiction disease! Laughing
Your friend is apparently a genius! Ha, I think of all of the problems I could have avoided...and didn't...because I didn't read the instructions first. Frown

Memah,
Welcome! Smile
The color number is the number from the palette you've chosen. If you've chosen Red Heart Super Saver, that's the color number designated for each color in your palette. The count is how many stitches you have in a particular color. We don't give actual numbers of balls of wool because it's impossible to know in advance. That number depends on your chosen hook, your chosen fiber and finally, your tension or gauge. All of that information together makes every project as unique as you are! Kiss
In order to figure out your tension or gauge, you must make something called a gauge swatch. And most people hate doing them (yes, I do, too). But they're necessary to know things so you can calculate not just yardage, but also the finished size of your project.
Once you've made a gauge swatch, this link may be helpful in figuring out yardage so you know how much wool to buy. Kiss

Hope that helps! Kiss

Hi.

In the next version of updated software I changed the color of the grid however, I think I'll do two additional things.

On black and white charts, I'll set it to use non-black or white grid lines.

And I think maybe I'll also allow you to manually change grid line colors.

Internally, the software supports changing grid colors and also styles.  I was thinking of not only allowing color selection but also possibly line style, like maybe solid lines, dashed lines, dotted lines, etc.  Anything that would make them stand out.

But I agree this has been an area that needs attention.  I'm just coming back to finishing the next update.  I'll also be back to program development again in a few weeks.

So if you can hang in there for a week or so, I'll try to have this in the next update.

Terry

Hi,

I'll should have an updated version in the next few days.  I've already fixed 4 problems and have about 5 to go.  Color selection, especially when you manually choose them is a known issue.

Terry

Aabye,

Glad you've picked the project back up. I have so many unfinished projects lying about. So you are welcome for that.

I am really enjoying doing the graphghans. They can be nerve wracking with all these bobbins and color changes - goodness but I am so excited to see how it all turns out.

I think you should definately try one, it is fun watching the picture develope.
