New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

I almost forgot the design pattern I created for a Christmas star in peyote this past December. On the Seed Beads And More FB group page they had a November and December beading challenge to make Christmas stars either ones from the pattern pdfs in their files or one of our own. I had made a couple of stars already the yr before and made a few from the files I gave as gifts. Then I decided to design a special one for me in the Southwest style which is what I know best and is the simpliest to create. I did it also on my BeadToll4 program, but since they don't offer star pattern grahps I created the star designs in diamond shapes and just beaded it as a complete star. I never did change it to a star graph since I know how to follow it to make it without the pattern being on the graph. Soem asked me if I would create one on a star pattern, but I declined as it would ahve had to be hand colored in and no pdf which most folks want to go by. I did tell anyone who desired could use the designs in a star or in any way they chose if they wanted. So far I ahve not seen a single star or other beaded item with my designs which is fine with me too. I do have a pdf for the diamonds I created to amke this star from.
I call this star "Walks In Spirit". It is also the name I created years ago and use for my beading I send out with any beaded items I make for folks.
Hi again.
I just sent you an email to which you can reply with the image.

Frank,
Welcome to our message

As far as I can
tell, the brownish marks are probably from the oils in your hands.
Switching to plastic was definitely a great idea, though if you're
still experiencing marks with a plastic hoop, that's likely because
the oils in your hands are still exposed to the fabric when you
handle the hoop.
I know about a great
product that I bought so many years ago, it was about the time the
Earth's crust was still cooling. Have you tried Q-Snaps? They're more of
a frame with a covering that holds the fabric onto the frame, so
you don't end up touching the fabric directly when you hold the
outside part of it. I swear, I don't sell for them...but it's a
very, very good product and I haven't looked back to a hoop since
switching.
Their official website
is:
https://www.qsnap.com/
It seems the site is more for demonstration and sales to
distributors and wholesalers than individual sales, but I bought
mine so long ago from a needlework shop, so that's where you may
want to look. I've also seen them on Amazon. If you're located in a
cross stitch shop desert, sigh, mail order sources probably sell
them too.
As for the marks already on your
fabric, I'm not sure if this site helps, as they're talking more
about spots than marks, but I do like their list of solutions to
different problems that can happen. Which I find quite useful
because just about looking at it the wrong way seems to stain cross
stitch fabric!
https://lordlibidan.com/how-do-i-remove-cross-stitch-stains/
I know how distressing it is to find marks on a
beautiful project and hope the stain removal and Q-Snap solutions
are of some help! And having used hoops before, honestly, I much
prefer the feel of the Q-Snaps.
Hope that
helps!

Hello,
Would it be possible to
add Stylecraft Special DK yarn to your palettes? They
have 80 gorgeous colors and the yarn is incredibly soft and
reasonably priced. I know that one of your vendors
Loveknitting.com carries it as well.
Thank
you!
Renee
