New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

Sharlene,

Thanks for the email.  Let me look though everything and I'll let you know my findings.

Just a note: I ran two of your images through the PatternWizard using peyote stitch.  Without manually selecting colors, they worked fine.

I'll read through your notes and take a look at the spreadsheet of colors.

I'll probably get back to you tomorrow after I go through everything and do some testing.

Terry

First off, let me say I just found this site the other night. When I asked someone if they could create a Word Chart (Crocheting) from a picture and at this time they could not, I googled and found this site. Awesome!

I was afraid of being booted off I uploaded the pictures so  many times.

My question is, I want to keep this picture of our two Westies sitting on a dock simple, so I selected my own colors. I will use "I Love This Yarn" for the graphghan. It is for my husband, for Christmas. The one thing I found (and I have done it over so many times) is that it WILL NOT use white for my Westies. Is there a way to tell it to use white? Would this be in the Premier edition?

What I finally did was choose 7 colors, then I changed what colors I thought it should be. For some reason it made an area of our dog Medium yellow, so now all medium yellow will be Off white. Also, anything light gray will be off white. Medium Gray will be White. For some reason it thinks my dogs are gray. Ha!

I am excited to do this Word Chart. You see, our last Westie we had to put down in May. I wanted to do something for my hubby and surprise him. Trust me, he won't have a clue what I'm doing in my craft room.  Smiley

I was trying to keep it from having too many balls of yarn attached to one row, but it seems it is up to 49 in row 1.

Suggestions for choosing correct colors for a simple photo?

Thank you!

Nancy S.

Hi.

While we're still working on testing and debugging a new version of the program, I've begun updating a bunch (technical term) of internal settings and configurations which will make everyting run smoother.

While I'll try to be careful, over the next few days you may see a temporary glitch in something.  I don't expect anything to affect the operation of the freePatternWizard.

Some of the changes affect things site-wide and you may have to do small things like retrain your browser if it saves your password.

We're bringing the site much more up-to-date and usability will eventually be easier on mobile devices.

We're also working on some new things which will be bringing a lot of new people to the site so I'll probably be upgrading the hardware again soon.  And we're prepared to continue upgrading the hardware as necessary.

Once all these updates are finished, we'll work to complete our testing of the new software so we can begin turning on new features.

As usual, have fun!  There's lots more to come!

Terry

Is there anyway to print the actual graph boxes on top of a picture?
