New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Caroline,
I just saw your message as it came up in the community highlights. I know it is several months past since you posted it and I was wondering if you were able to get this coverted. If not, I "might" be able to help. At least I can try. I found a way to edit photos like this that works most times, though not always & I don't have to use a photo editor like photo shop. It's a bit time consuming but it works quite well.
If you are still interested in having this done, I can do this as a single crochet graphgan for you as I'm assuming that's what the sc stands for in your post.
Just reply & I'll check for your message.
Kathy
Thank you! I'll be watching 😁

Neave,
I completely agree. I see people who work their buns off, yet barely make any money. I contrast that with another store that's practically next door to Walmart here. That store is employee owned, so they get something more than a paycheck. They don't work for minimum wage and the atmosphere is completely different. Even when they're busy, the employees are relaxed and happy...and they work hard, too. But the Walmart ones put in just as much effort, and get just about nothing in return.
I remember a time many years ago when I was really into cross stitching. Someone told me it was possible to get cross stitch kits as demos for free from Walmart, as long as you would make the item and bring it in - in a timely fashion, though. Nobody would get paid for that kind of work, but getting a free pattern and making it was its own reward.
I called and they said they didn't have outside stitchers making pieces; if they wanted some of those kits done for demos, they figured they could send the patterns home with employees. I then realized I'd better shut up before the employees in the craft section were forced to do the work for nothing, not as much as their (pittance) regular hourly pay! I don't think the employees were given the kits, but for a while I was sweating that one out, feeling terribly guilty.

Eharrise,
Welcome!
Filet crochet
does end up looking almost like a regular crochet graph sans
colors, but in this instance the blocks don't indicate single
stitches, they indicate "closed" filet blocks (of stitches) or
"open" filet blocks, depending. This is the way a normal filet
pattern is represented, as you can see in this neat tutorial for
working in filet:
https://www.crochet.com/learning-center/filet-crochet
If you're looking for a word pattern, we currently have
no option for one in filet, only a graphical
representation.
Currently, filet is only
available in the Premier area. If you'd like to use the regular
freePatternWizard to make filet patterns you certainly may, but
those are keyed to make rectangular patterns (since single crochet
stitches are rectangular) and not specifically square filet block
patterns, so the results may not have the aspect ratio you want and
the finished work may end up looking skewed or wonky.
Hope that helps!
