New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Will brands like Yarn Bee (Hobby Lobby) ever be featured in the color palette? Certain colors seem to be harder to come by nowadays and Hobby Lobby always seems to have it in abundance.
I have created a pattern and am having trouble finding a site that sells all the needed bead colors for Miyuki beads. I'm open to delica or seed beads, that were suggested when I created the pattern. TIA! Marie
Juan,
Welcome!
If you've chosen "standard" crochet, in the UK and Australia (and perhaps some other countries of which I'm not aware) that means a double crochet stitch. In the US, it's called a single crochet. (This is why we call it standard, because if we were to call it a single crochet, our friends in the UK and Australia would probably be lost!)
If you've chosen Tunisian, it depends on which Tunisian stitch you've chosen; the shape of your stitch will be determined by your gauge.
If you've subscribed to and are using filet, in the US, your standard stitches for that are the double crochet and chain. In the UK, you would be using the treble and the chain stitch.
Hope that helps!

Mommatiger,
Welcome and I hope
you find the freePatternWizard helpful! I've done the graph paper/colored
pencils thing and it works, but it's unfortunately very, very
tedious.

Asedai,
You're so welcome!
Glad to hear
you figured out what was wrong. Sometimes that's half the
battle!
When it comes to something like
graphed work or a pattern where stitch count is critical, what I
like to do is to not count the turning chain as a stitch. With
double crochet, a turning chain has bulk and looks more like a
double crochet, so I'll count that, but I personally feel like a
chain doesn't look enough like a stitch, so I sort of count it as
merely part of a single crochet, not a standalone single, if that
makes sense. But then I also have to be absolutely sure that I
start my single crochets in the very first stitch and finish in the
very last one for every row, so as not to have what you're talking
about happen - an unwanted increase.
I often
recommend starting with a smaller project, such as a pillow or even
a dishcloth, to get a feel for how such a project will work. But no
worries...except for a bit of frustration, it sounds like you'll be
okay and will be able to work even from now on.
Juan,
