New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Welcome!
At this time the freePatternWizard doesn't have the ability to edit patterns, though this is a feature that is in development. In the meantime, you may want to choose a single color to represent several different symbols; for instance, if you have a letter A as a red and a letter B as a pink, you could choose one color that will be used for both A and B, rather than one color for each symbol. In this way you can eliminate several of the "single" stitches by working blocks of similar colors as only one color. Chances are that you'll probably never notice a difference, since you're likely more interested in focusing on your grandparents' faces and not your grandmother's dress!
Another alternative is to leave out the floral design on the dress entirely by making it one single color. Say your grandmother's dress is navy blue...you could make the entire thing navy blue and not bother with the floral pattern at all.
I have just registered so all is new to me. I have created a cross stitch pattern from photo. How do I calculate number of stitches per inch to fit 3.5 x 6.5 eye glass case? Would centre picture either horizontally or vertically. Appreciate your assistance.

Thank you, Terry, for keeping everyone up to date as well as all of the back end stuff you do ... greatly appreciated!
Hi,
my name is Debbie. I lost my job the first week of December due to health issues and have since been working on something I've been dreaming of doing for several years now - designing and selling my custom stitch designs. I have started a blog and store for this purpose. It's been slow going due to continued health issues, and I've hit quite a few bumps in the road along the way, but I'm not too unhappy with the progress made so far. I'm currently re-working some stitch designs I made when I was a teenager [I'm almost 60 now!].
As to which crafts I enjoy ... I love them ALL ... I learned crochet early on; at the time knitting was too complicated for me, but have recently taught myself using youtube videos and online tutorials. I have done needlepoint, crewel, plastic canvas, counted cross stitch, latch hook rugs, sewing and recently loom knitting due to hand and joint pain while knitting or crocheting.
I was so very happy to find a stitching community to share my love of all things stitching! Thank you for providing this venue for stitchers everywhere to meet and interact with each other!
