New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

Sue,

The artwork function will be turned on shortly after I turn on the new internal graphics engine that's the heart of the freePatternWizard.  This new "engine" will make the program much more flexible and is the first step to bringing the new freePatternWizard software live.

I'm currently in the final stages of testing and debugging this new software.

Terry

thexstitcher,

You're absolutely doing this right! and THANK YOU so very much for being interested in test stitching my patterns.  I have been a member of your facebook group for a little while now!  I haven't posted anything in there [or any other group] because I didn't want to run afoul of anyone's rules.  I tried to offer my free "how to create your own knit cowl" and the owner of the group took such offense at me she banned me from her group ...   I'm not here to compete with anyone, it's just my belief there's plenty of room for all craft type designers.

Here is a link to my cross stitch designs.  In a pm, let me know which you would like to test together with an email address and I will send you the pattern.  Also, for things like the baby sampler, if you just wanted to make the bear, that would be great too.

Thank you again!

Debbie

Thanks Melanie,

I can assure you I'm no 'seasoned professional' by any means.  If it wasn't for youtube and online videos, my knitting skills would most likely still be non-existent.

I think that one of the things that helps me is that because I am left-handed, I have always had to reverse what everyone else does.  Sometimes this is not easy.

I've been learning how to do various crafts since I was young, but by no means am I an expert in any one of them.  I have way too much to learn still, but that doesn't stop me from being able to share what I've already learned with others.

Yes, my main goal is to inspire others so they can come up with new and interesting projects, too.  There is nothing as satisfying as completing a project that you designed and created from start to finish, even if it was inspired by, or based upon something else.  It's a pretty awesome feeling, and I would love to help other people  feel that way, too.

Silvertiger,

Illusion knitting works best when you have an image with a lot of contrast.  If you look at some of the images of illusion knitting that are online, you'll see the stitch patterns are also elongated, which is part of the illusion.  Your pattern is produced by purling certain stitches, which, along with the piece being elongated, gives the eye the illusion of certain rows appearing prominently, and that makes your design.

Neave,

I don't blame you in the slightest!

Though not too shabby on what he's already received, as far as biting him on his behind...it could be a lot worse!  And good for any part you've had in that.  Smile
