New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Kyia,
Welcome!
What a beautiful first name you have...so unusual!
How sweet of your grandma to have taught you to crochet. Apparently it was just what the doctor ordered! And it's wonderful that you're self-taught on the rest...I'm self-taught, so I can appreciate your journey. LOL, though I'm so ancient that not only was the Earth's crust still cooling when I learned, there was no YouTube or Internet for learning! Oh, the horrors! LOL.
Congrats on getting your first home! Glad you made it through all of the rought times and hoping your move will go happily and smoothly.
Valerie,
Welcome!
You're not missing anything. Outlining (backstitch) isn't available at this time. At some point in the future I'm sure we'll be adding it, but I don't have a time frame available.
Line,
I think you must buy two new cones! On the practical side, you don't want to get to the end of your pattern and not have enough yarn.
And of course you can never get enough yarn!
You could also use two different colors if you like to combine colors.
Hugs,
Melanie
Neave,
LOL, no, go ahead and laugh...his worry was completely unfounded, so nothing to get upset about! Hee hee, you guys crack me up!
Special edit: Just realized...I'm not sure if you guys have that phrase there! To crack me up means you make me laugh.

Queenphalange,
Welcome!
Although I've
seen beginners start with large, complex projects, my first
instinct is always to have people start with smaller ones. As a
beginner, you want to learn how to read the pattern and handle your
project. I feel that an advanced project may not get you the
earlier steps you need for learning. I'm not saying you should hold
off forever, but perhaps trying a simple kit or two would be
helpful before starting something much larger.
I do think your idea of a SpiderMan cross stitch is
wonderful, so perhaps you could still plan it out while working a
smaller kit first?
You also have a
lovely day or night!
