Cass,
Welcome! Smile
Would it be possible for you to choose your own colors? In option 5b you can select the radio button that's marked, "I will choose my colors (select to see the colors)."
With any luck, the missing colors will be back in stock soon, but in the meantime, hopefully this workaround will help. Smile

De'Andrea,

Ouch, the four days off must be nice, but what a hassle to work the other four days! Especially when you have to drive 50 miles each way, yuck. I hope working nights is at least quiet?

I worked a sort of split shift many years ago. It was a horrible job, but the hours were pretty decent. 11:45am to 8:30pm (dinner was 3/4 of an hour and not included in the hourly count, so that was the reason there was an extra 15 minutes beforehand and an extra 30 minutes after). It was a not too bad schedule for those who didn't like to get up early, but so inefficient with the way they did things! They ordered a 15 minute meeting before starting work. Then we'd all work and you had to work up until exactly 8:30. Some people's managers understood that if you got a call at 8:30, you wouldn't be off the phone until at least a few minutes later, so they'd allow them to be "offline" from the phones for the last few minutes. But my manager was a stickler. She wanted me to be available until 8:30 on the dot. So the next shift had arrived and would be goofing off, slowly getting on the phones and most of my shift would be "offline," but I was expected to be there "online" until 8:30 and I'd almost ALWAYS get a complicated call at 8:30. But then, my phone was one of the few available.

I was SO glad to leave that place!

It's really nice to have money to spend on crafty things. Kiss I can totally relate! There's always some beautiful beads or yarns that call out, especially in the middle of the night. "Buy me!" One cannot resist the call! Laughing

I love that you worked in square stitch, too, especially how you developed your own technique! Kiss LOL, I wasn't inventive enough to work with two beads at a time, so I just went the plodding old one bead at a time way. It took forever, but I did love ending up with something that looked like it was loom beaded!

There weren't very many things around for beading in the past...some of my first seed beads were from large plastic packages, sigh. No bead stores anywhere in my area. Even the big box craft stores came much later. Only place to buy anything was a department store, and most didn't carry beads.

That's so cool how you have four looms! Kiss I forget...is retirement in your near future? I hope you can be using all four looms at once when that happens! Kiss

Love the details of the turquoise in the middle and the loop. Kiss The star is gorgeous as it is, but I think the details that aren't standard really help to make a piece, particularly this one. Kiss

Anytime you need help with PDFs...I'm not an expert, but I do know enough to be dangerous. Wink LOL.

All RIGHT...45 more lines! Kiss So psyched for you! Kiss

Argh, working in the ends...beading, crochet, knitting...it's so tedious! At least doing the actual work is fun, but the ends are just too annoying.

When working a beading project I try to get a few rows up so no worries about crossing ends woven in, which makes it a LITTLE less tedious. Still is a chore, though. Undecided

No worries...it's stockinette; e.g., every other side is knit/purl, not all knit stitches for garter stitch.  Smile

Hi, Cathyjessy.

I have a feeling the iPad 1 with an early IOS version may not work.  I did some research and the gist of what I've found is that when Apple first released the iPad 1, it was a simple tablet and was not supposed to be a replacement for a laptop or desktop computer.  They advertised it as:
Quote:
"SAN FRANCISCO—January 27, 2010—Apple® today introduced iPad, a revolutionary device for browsing the web, reading and sending email, enjoying photos, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, reading e-books and much more."

From what I've found, there's no built-in file picker function on the iPad 1.  I looked around and don't see one that you'd be able to install but that's just from spending an hour surfing the web.  You may want to search the internet for a "file picker" addon or possibly a different browser that supports it and will work on the iPad 1.

I do know the freePatternWizard works fine under IOS6 and above and Safari 5.0 (8536.25).  It even works fine on my old iPhone 4S using IOS6.

I found a similar problem with a very old version of Android.  This one particular version is years old and for some reason is the only one from which Google removed the "file picker" program that lets you click on the "Choose File" button and select an image.

If you have access to a computer or other device, those will probably work fine.  Or if you can find a "file picker" program or possibly an updated browser to install on your iPad, that would possibly also solve it.  Sorry I can't be of more help but I'll keep glancing around.

Terry

Line,

Your school schedule is so different from ours!  I think it's changed a bit since I went to school, but I seem to recall we started in September and then the Christmas break was the end of the semester.  (Though I'm guessing it didn't end right before Christmas, but rather, a bit earlier than that, maybe a week or two before.)

Then everything would pick up again with the spring semester in early January.  We'd then go until May or June, forget which.  The summer session was around June through August.  When I first went to college, I started in January with the spring semester.  Then I took something like three summer classes, to get caught up to where I wanted to be.  I had two science classes and one English class.  Hmm, or maybe that was two English classes!  It probably was two, come to think of it.  One was more about grammar, spelling, etc, and the other was about literature.  The science classes were kind of oddball, but the one was especially enjoyable, because the professor was very unconventional and would happily embrace talk about subjects other professors might have complained wasn't "on topic."  But she was cool and understood that something beyond a one sided view was better for learning.  Smile

Argh, I'm sorry you don't have a nice break between classes this time.  Cry

Oh, no, ten exams instead of nine!  Surprised

How long do you have to decide on the subjects for your Exam Project?  That sounds really difficult.  It's also quite different than what happened at my schools...the classes were all separate.  Nobody would ask for a project that covered two subjects.  I guess that was maybe because everyone was doing something extremely different.  I had some classes with certain friends, but they'd never be in all of the same classes with me!

Groan, that bead project still pisses me off.  Twice the very last bead had to break...I couldn't have done that if I'd tried, but since I didn't try, it decided to punish!  Yell

Yeah, it's not coming out of the penalty corner for a loooooong time, if ever!

Hugs!  Kiss
