I was able to get the first four chair boots knitted up yesterday. 36 more to go. I knit them up during the day and then seam them together in the evenings whilst I watch the telly. With age come eye problems so I use a head-set magnifier with tiny lights attached. It's very attractive. NOT! However, it does the job. I sometimes have to wiggle and giggle to figure out which way to hold my head so the proper level of my bifocals comes into focus.

Glad to hear you're back to your energetic self.

I love the idea of seaming in front of the TV...it makes so much sense to do something active, rather than only sitting like a couch potato! I admit that my favorite thing to do in front of the TV is to knit, crochet or bead. As long as it's not a complex pattern, I can keep my mind on both at the same time.

The magnifier sounds terrific! I'd love to have one of those. It sounds like you wear your glasses with it...is that correct? Groan, I also have bifocals, and the problem I have with them is they don't do a very good job close up. That's why the headset sounds perfect.

Yes, I do wear the glasses with it. Working with darker yarns is nearly impossible without a magnifier. The headset makes it possible as it doesn't get in the way. It flips up when I need to see more than what I'm working on. Have to say, it's one of my best purchases. Before I had the headset, I just used those magnifying glasses you get that pharmacies and department stores. I used the highest magnification ones and they worked beautifully. The down side was constantly changing from them to my regular glasses to "see back and forth".

I look funky in em but they work. Roll Eyes

I completely agree, because this is what I do, too...knit while watching TV.

Oh, grrrrrrrrrr, I know exactly what you mean about trying to see dark yarns without a magnifier. Same goes for beads. I also use those magnifying glasses they sell in the pharmacies and such (I get them from dollar stores...seem to be the same thing for a lot less money!), and I've found wearing them over regular glasses helps me to see best of all...except...then I go batty trying to look up at the TV or anything else. I also can't really control them. And they're SO uncomfortable! Sad

I've got to get a headset, for sure! Hey, who cares how they look?! Not like one is going out for a night on the town while wearing them, eh? Grin
