new to board

Hi all I'm new to the board and i'm so looking forward to learn lots about beading.
I absolutely love peyote and have been learning that - would like to learn brick stitch and other various stitches. I really have my heart set on making lots of beaded cover ornaments  as well.
I look forward to this lovely new community board getting off the ground and becoming a WOW informative board.
Kathy

Kathy,

Welcome!  Smiley

What kinds of things have you made so far?  Feel free to post photos of anything you've made...always nice to see great eye candy!

Ornament covers are soooo nice...you can make what you want in the colors you want.  I like to look at the ornaments in stores at holiday time, but often something is just a little different than what I want...a different color or the wrong type of finish.  With beads...not a problem!  Smiley

Thank you for your kind words...feel free to post anytime!  If you have a question, want to make a comment, or if you simply want to share something you're working on!  Smiley

Stopping in to say Hi - haven't stopped in for a very long while.
Been busy with family health issues of aging parents and haven't touched my beading projects - got them all organized - when I have a stretch of time a beading I will go.
How are things with the message board?
Kathy

Kathy,

I'm sorry to hear about your family health issues...ouch, that's always difficult and unfortunately takes much time away from beading, as well!  Sad

Things are okay here...we're working on revamping our mall and then will be turning into redesigning the message boards (Community) and Circles, as we want to make them more user-friendly.  We're also fortunate to have two wonderful new patterns from the ultra talented Barb Grainger for sale in our mall, her Pinecone Delight and Diagonal Leaf Cuff, as well as Circles here on the site for discussions of each.  Smiley

I hope you can get back to your beading soon!  Are you planning on ornament covers for holiday gifts?  I've always preferred giving handmade gifts...it tells the recipient that a lot more than shopping time went into the gift.  Smiley

Please feel free to join in when your time frees up and post some pictures of ornament covers or whatever else you do!  Smiley  Eye candy is always enjoyed!

Well I have taken the plung and I'm bead bead beading big time. Have 4 projects on the go.
I love Deb Moffett-Hall panel ornaments - so i'm rotating 4 projects. And of course have beaded covered ornaments with seed beads on my list to.
Mind you I have cross stitching to do to: I stitch ornaments for the neices & nephews each year and HAVE to get them done to.
I just figured if I didn't make the time and do beads I wouldn't be - the more you do the more you learn the peyote - I so enjoy beads big time

Kathy,

LOL, yes, I have been big time lured by beads and can't quit them.  At least they're not unhealthy!  Just habit-forming.  Okay, addiction forming!  Grin

Four projects...hee hee, that's bead heaven!  Smiley  I also love Deb's panel ornaments...she has SO many to choose from, and they're all gorgeous!  Do post pics when you get the chance!

Ooh, your nieces and nephews are SO lucky.  Smiley

I've been beading for over 10 years now and am STILL learning.  I don't want to stop learning!  It's such a fascinating hobby.  Smiley

Keep ENJOYING!  Smiley
