New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

and speaking of th u.k what a mess they've landed themselves in by voting to leave the european union
Since the last update we've had a few people who expresses interest in allowing you to choose whether or not crochet word charts should display turning chain stitches.
I just added a new "Preferences" tab on the left of the page that allows you to choose one way or the other.
This basically allow you to set it so crochet word charts display turning chain stitches (the word chart row counts total the chart stitch count), or set it so it does not display turning chain stitches (each row will show one stitch short).
We set the default to show turning chain stitches, the way it's been since day one.
To use this option, click on the "Preferences" tab on the left, click on your desired button (show or don't show turning chain stitches), and click on the "Save My Settings" button. It'll then remember this information from then on. You can always go back at any time and change the setting back if you want.
Thank you for the advice and its great advice. I have been crocheting as long as I can remember i'm 36 now. Crochet is part of my life my mom taught me. I can't wait to start on some small graghgahn projects.
I have a friend that wants me to do a portrait of her dog in cross stitch, it's going to take 107 colors, but how do I tell how many skeins I need to order or each color? Is it the count? Or is that how many stitches you do of each color?
Thanks, sounds great!
Janice
