New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

I have been working on this for quite a while, but I really love this pattern and it is exciting to stitch. There are a lot of blends, which produce a very clean and smooth transition. My stitching on the hat is very lumpy, probably because this was one of my first projects. The finished design will be an Owl in a potion bottle with steam coming out of the top. The steam is all half cross stitching outlined in backstitching, but I find the half cross stitches hard to count, especially the ones in white. It is hard to see, but I have already started the white half cross stitches to the left. There will be more in other colors, which I hope will be easier to count. I started this on Halloween 2019, but I have not made a lot of progress for six moths as I tend to work on multiple projects at a time, a bad habit that I need to stop doing! I bought it from MilanaLoveStitch on Etsy. Anyway, this is a Work In Progress that I am very proud of, so I would like to show here.
Neave,
Well, there goes my dream of getting another kitty...unless our little furdaughter tells us she wants a cat of her own... Except she's a cat hater.
what settings did you use to get a totally clear picture on the graph...pulling my hair out here

It would take some thought and planning, but I don't see why
that wouldn't work also. I think for myself, I would do
the back and the front, but your idea is excellent.Charlene

Ooops! When I said "other side", I meant the other
side of the front. In other words, the left front. I
think it's the right front that's curved, isn't it?Marilyn

I wondered how it would turn out if you were to leave off
the last increase on the curved piece so it wouldn't be quite so
wide, and then make another piece just like it for the other
side. Something I may ponder sometime.

Donna,
Welcome!
Great question!
It depends on the size of your beads. There are charts for
measurements of strung beads, beads stitched per square inch and
rows per square inch. I haven't yet been able to find something
specifically measuring beads per inch in peyote stitch, so here are
the references I did find.
For number of
beads per inch as strung and number of beads per square inch,
you'll find that info here:
https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/how-many-seed-beads-need-340315
For rows per square inch, you can find that info
here:
http://www.facetjewelry.com/stitching/resources/2017/11/how-many-rows-of-beadwork-per-inch
If you do find what I can't seem to, please stop back
and give us a link!
