New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

I am trying to make a pattern out of a black and white line drawing...
Why on earth does the program add 28 colors and extra stuff to it making it IMPOSSIBLE to stitch properly?

all i want is a simple balck and white line to stitch...

You got it right, Melanie ... the first chart was the seed stitch and the second one was the moss stitch.

I've been contemplating the following ideas for additional follow up tutorials ...

1.  Simple lace pattern because of additional stitch types; if someone
has a free one they would like to see done, I'm open to that.
2.  Decoding a user suggested [free] chart where users can practice
interpreting charts with help when they get stuck
3.  Finish up by showing how charts make it REALLY easy to modify a
pattern to suit your own needs.

I'm open to any / all of these options as well as any other suggestions, comments, ideas, etc.

Thanks!

Melanie,

It definitely has it privileges.. Cheesy

Silver has been here for now 24 hours.. She has been soooo easy with everything.. Slept through the night, has only had 1 single accident indoors, and she runs in/out like she has been here forever.. Cheesy

Only problem with her: She bathes in her water bowl Yell Laughing
It's great with water everywhere.. We have moved all their water outside - there she is more than welcome to bathe all she wants.. :p I am looking for a plastic pool for her.. She seem to love water, so I want to give her the oppotunity to put her cute little paws in water when ever she wants to.. Cheesy

Line,

Thank you so much, hon...I'll let you know how it goes with them.  Kiss  They live nearby, though we don't see them often, as they're off in a different direction than we usually travel!  And when we do stop by, they're frequently not home, sigh.  But I'm guessing we'll at least bump into them in the next week or two...hopefully!  Kiss

I'll also get an email address for them so they can consult the forum...it sounds like that's going to be extremely helpful for them, too.  Kiss  It's just amazing how someone can sell a dog to just anyone, not knowing if they'll be a good match.  Even if it was an adoption, it's still quite nasty to not talk about the temperament this dog would have and how best to train him!

I bet there are other husky owners in this area, and how lovely if the forum could get them together!  Kiss

Thank you again!  Kiss

I posted one FREE knitting book for Kindle for today...grab it before it's gone!  (Note: you do not need to have an actual Kindle.  If you have a smartphone, you can download a Kindle reader app for FREE...if all you have is a PC, you can download to your PC...and I believe there may also be a way now of completely bypassing any kind of reader app to read directly online - though please don't quote me on that, as I'm not sure.  I find the PC reader to be quite decent for pattern content...since I don't own a Kindle, I can't say how well it works...but I would think a smaller screen would make patterns kind of difficult to read.)
