New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Thank you for the kind words and encouragement during the long journey with this project. It is no longer a work in progress. It is finished, framed and is hanging on the wall.
Thank you!! Now I understand!! For filet crochet I had to make a swatch and count the "blocks" of the filet as that is what a block on the graph is......... Gotcha!! number of filet blocks per inch from my swatch times the number of inches I would like, Awesome!! ........ And Yes Please, Can you recommend the windows pc photo programs for me? I need to shrink my picture and see if that will provide more detail in a smaller version because when I tried it with less inches it didn't look as good to me.
Ali,
If you're thinking of crocheting a pattern in embroidery floss, please be careful. Since embroidery floss is so small, you'll end up with a very large number of stitches.
If you're thinking of doing cross stitch on crochet with embroidery floss, the important thing is to be sure your fibers aren't completely different. Yarn will usually stretch; embroidery floss doesn't. Also, if you're combining two different fibers the care may be very different.
Oh yay! Thank you, my absolute favorite yarn.

Debra,
Welcome!
Antialiasing
helps to smooth out curved lines that would otherwise look jagged.
Since squares and rectangles aren't technically "curves," in
generating a pattern, this setting will attempt to give it a more
curved look.
