New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

First off, let me say I just found this site the other night. When I asked someone if they could create a Word Chart (Crocheting) from a picture and at this time they could not, I googled and found this site. Awesome!
I was afraid of being booted off I uploaded the pictures so many times.
My question is, I want to keep this picture of our two Westies sitting on a dock simple, so I selected my own colors. I will use "I Love This Yarn" for the graphghan. It is for my husband, for Christmas. The one thing I found (and I have done it over so many times) is that it WILL NOT use white for my Westies. Is there a way to tell it to use white? Would this be in the Premier edition?
What I finally did was choose 7 colors, then I changed what colors I thought it should be. For some reason it made an area of our dog Medium yellow, so now all medium yellow will be Off white. Also, anything light gray will be off white. Medium Gray will be White. For some reason it thinks my dogs are gray. Ha!
I am excited to do this Word Chart. You see, our last Westie we had to put down in May. I wanted to do something for my hubby and surprise him. Trust me, he won't have a clue what I'm doing in my craft room.
I was trying to keep it from having too many balls of yarn attached to one row, but it seems it is up to 49 in row 1.
Suggestions for choosing correct colors for a simple photo?
Thank you!

JoEllen,
Welcome!
Glad you've
found us...please do feel free to post pics of your work (any work,
doesn't have to be made with the help of the
freePatternWizard)...we love to drool!
Thanks for the nice welcome. I do not have this web page
here yet so completely in the grasp. I sit here in my livingroom
and when I open Stitchboard I feel like I´m abroad
It take time to translate my german
thougts in english words. In the same time I could bead an earring
*g
But you will read about me, and see
pictures of my work over time.
greets from
Germany
Virgil,
Welcome!
Congratulations
on meeting your soul mate! Love is such a precious and wonderful
thing! And thanks for posting the pic of the
two of you...LOVE!
No
worries...it's always so nice to hear about people's lives...nope,
ears are definitely not bleeding.
I don't have a
specific site or anything that I use. When I have a question about
something, I check out YouTube by searching directly for what I'm
interested in. But then, I'm older than dirt and learned crochet ages ago,
before there was a YouTube or even, gasp, an Internet! So I learned it all from books.
(Oh, noes! ) That's why I don't have a specific
reference.
But you're definitely in luck,
because BetwixtTheStitch on this site is an expert in Tunisian, so
I'll see if she has any ideas on sites or videos, etc.
And ANYTIME you
have questions or just want to talk crochet, knitting, anything,
that would be great! Love to hear from other like-minded
people...so glad you found us!

This is my latest project, this block is the Green Lantern
emblem.
Of course this one is Wonder Woman.
I have 2 more blocks to go for this piece, Flash and Green Arrow. I'm working it in tunisian knit with Caron One Pound acrylic yarn.
