New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Hello, I have a question regarding colours.
I've uploaded a picture and received my chart. However, it seems there aren't enough shades of blue. I'm missing one shade of blue, which is returned brown. (So let's say there are 10 shades of blue in the image, but the yarn only comes in 9 shades of blue. The software returns the 10th shade as brown.)
Is there a way to fix this? Is there a work-around? Any tips?
(I've tried brightening up the picture, but there will be less detail when I do that. It didn't look good.)
I've already started my project. I quit after finding out, and haven't picked it up since. I'd really like to finish my project though.
Any help or ideas are welcome.
Thanks.
Crystal,
You're very welcome!
Thank you so much for this suggestion. I'm not sure that the one I'm doing now is going to look like what it's suppose to. I cant see it yet and it has me worried. maybe I should scratch this pattern and just work on the pattern for my parents.
Inorrid,
Welcome!
The graphs the freePatternWizard creates aren't meant for C2C afghans, so we can't guarantee the results. C2C is in the plans, but no idea when.
Since you're using C2C instead of single crochet (a.k.a. double crochet if you're in the UK), you may notice your pattern is skewed, as single crochet stitches aren't actually square. They're more rectangular, so the patterns created are keyed to be rectangular. C2C is more square than rectangular, so it's possible your pattern will distort for that reason.
I've worked C2C patterns before, and the time to decrease is when you reach the 150 square mark; you'll have to check your pattern for which side that is. Once you do, then you'll continue increasing the other edge until it reaches 235 squares, then that will be decreased until you ultimately end up at the opposite corner from where you started, with one square left.

Sherry,
Honestly, I ALWAYS have
trouble pricing anything. I hate to charge an amount that
someone would consider "too much"...but I also don't want to feel
like I got cheated! Pricing is THE most difficult thing to do.
Long before I
knew anything about selling handmade items (this was my first
experience with selling handmade EVER), I agreed to make some
ribbon roses for someone. It took sooooo long and I didn't make all
that much. But it wasn't the guy's fault...he paid me what we'd
agreed on. It was just that I didn't want to overcharge him and
ended up way undercharging.
If you don't want
to use a formula, as I said in another post, perhaps looking around
at similar things that other people have made will give you a
ballpark idea of what to charge.
You're NOT in it
alone!
