New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Sue,
Glad I could help!
The two programs I like to recommend are:
GIMP:
https://www.gimp.org/
and paint.net:
https://www.getpaint.net/
I can't tell you how to use them, though...I'm still using a program from, gasp, 1998!
Hi.
Thanks for asking!
Yes, this is a change that I made recently because some users were asking about having the individual stitches removed.
I can now see it's a total user-preference issue. Some will want it one way, some the other.
I'm going to add an option in the blue "Preferences" tab on the left that will allow you to change the appearance of this image.
Actually there will probably be 3 options:
1. Show image as stitched (what you like)
2. Show image without stitch marks (what some commercial members have preferred)
3. Show original image (I'll just throw this in in case someone wants it.)
The #3 original image will be without stitch marks and the colors will be those from your original image and not those chosen from the program palette.
Anyway, please give me a day or two and I'll add this option. I'll post again when it's done.
Terry
Freubs,
Welcome!
Congrats on teaching yourself to crochet...that's wonderful!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. We have quite a few experienced crocheters here, as well as beginners and some in between. I've personally been crocheting for a really long time, and I can tell you I'm still learning! There's always something new.
Neave,
Ugh, I completely agree! Family really can be your worst enemy. That "sacred" family crap is so ridiculous! People completely forget about how vulnerable people are when it comes to family. Their guard is generally down and loving, positive feelings for family can lead to a mess.
