New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

That sounds like a nice cake. I will be sure to post them individually. And I will color everything: frosting, cake, liner, and somehow I will have to make those decorations! Well, now I must start June!
When will the pdf document will be coming into effect. I am able to only use PDF document because this is a work computer that I am using. I am not able to download any other documents.
Sincerely,

Margaret,
Welcome!
You've asked an excellent question! Conventionally for knitting, you'll use a rectangular stitch; however, it's more complicated with illusion knitting. With illusion knitting, you're really knitting four rows for every "normal" row. Plus, your stitches that make the illusion image visible aren't the conventional stockinette, but rather combinations of stockinette and garter stitch, of which the latter are more compact stitches. Working the stitches as if they're square, for example, 10 stitches x 10 rows to form a square instead of 10 stitches x 12 rows to make a stockinette square, can keep your finished piece showing less distortion as you view it from the proper angle.
A caveat - this also is affected by size of image. If your image is very large, rectangular is probably a better choice (considering there's more real estate in the image, which could throw it off visually), but smaller, square stitches should cause less distortion.
Melanie,
Crab stitch sound a lot like what we are calling it in Denmark..
It's a very easy pattern, so it wont take me very long to translate.. I'll do it in my winter break. Have a lot of time for it there..
I am actually making another hat right now..
It's very.. ribbed.. :p haha
Please don't judge my pants.. :p
This hat is made from an alpaca/lamb wool blend.. It's the softest yarn I have EVER touched... Even softer than my highland wool/silk blend..
It's made on an I hook..
I allready hate the pattern.. it's a tough start, but very easy when you get to the point where I am now... Made in only hdc, and fphdc stitches..

Bea,
Welcome!
Congrats on
your new knitting machine...how exciting!
The freePatternWizard doesn't have any kind of interface
for a knitting machine, I'm sorry to say. I'm guessing there is a
way of manually inputting a pattern into any machine, so my
suggestion would be to look at your owner's manual for
instructions.
