New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

Cuddle2bears (awww! Kiss),
Welcome! Smile
I'm sorry to say the freePatternWizard has no way of turning an already graphed pattern into a written pattern. The only way is to create a pattern with your original image and then in option #7 where it says, "Pattern or Word Chart:" you can then choose "Word Chart Only."

My thanks to Sara who reported that the screen pattern download function was not working.

I just corrected the problem and it works again.

Also, it now saves the pattern image with the same base file name as the original uploaded image.

So if you upload an image named "kitty.jpg", your pattern download would be named "kitty.gif" (since all downloaded patterns are in .gif format to preserve maximum resolution).

If you upload a .gif image, your pattern that's downloaded will have the prefix "pattern-" added to the beginning of the file name.  So if you upload an image called "kitty.gif", the downloaded image will be named "pattern-kitty.gif".  This prevents writing over your original image.

You can always override the download filename and enter any name you want when asked.

Bracka,

Welcome!  Smile

I did try a search, as I'm sure you also did, but there were no appreciable results.  So my suggestion would be to find a piece of clip art you like and turn that into a pattern with the freePatternWizard.  Smile  Please don't forget to, groan, swatch!  Smile

Melanie,

You'll have to share the technique you know use for short rows instead of the w&t's.

LOL, being left-handed has it's challenges at times, but if I can't figure out how to do something, sometimes all it takes is sitting opposite a right handed person [or mirror] to see how it should be done left handed.

Yes, I really enjoy sharing so others can benefit too.  I am *so* looking forward to seeing what people create as a result of the tutorials.

If you're on a mobile device, you won't be able to paste a pic here...if you're on a computer, you can paste a pic by clicking on the "tree" on the top line of tools...two tools to the left of the smiley.

The way it was done on the blanket I mentioned was that it was just yarn tied off through one side and knotted on the other!  It doesn't sound like it would last without getting ratty in the wash, but it's not ratty; however, your results may be different, depending on your yarn.  I guess I'd have to say be sure it's a good yarn that won't fall apart when laundered.  You could also experiment with scraps of different yarns until you get a result you like.  Smile
