New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

I am doing some beadwork, and I just noticed that the chatter has a couple of the same symbols but assigned to two different bead colors. Has anyone else come across that and how can I fix this?

No worries, you're not a bother...thanks for asking, because any questions you have, others undoubtedly also have!

We don't currently support stitches other than single crochet, Tunisian and filet crochet.  We'll be adding others, but at this time we don't have extended single crochet.

I would say extended single crochet would be very likely to elongate your stitches to the point where they would skew your pattern.  You could try this with a single letter, make one swatch with the letter in sc, then make another swatch with the same letter in extended sc.  You should choose a letter that would show clearly what effect the extended single crochet stitch would have on it.  A letter "I," for instance, probably would look fairly normal, perhaps just a tiny bit longer, so that one wouldn't give conclusive results.

We'll definitely be adding more stitches in the future...I'll suggest we place a higher priority on that, which is what we do with our more popular requested features.  With over 100 features planned, it's going to take some time, so we try to prioritize what people are requesting.  Smile

Welcome!  Smile

The free upgrade beta test is now over.  If you'd like more stitches, that's included in what we call our Premier features.  You can choose 300 stitches across for the introductory price of $2.99 for one year or 500 stitches across for the introductory price of $4.99 per year.  If you choose to subscribe to 500 stitches across, you do not have to also subscribe to 300, as the 300 is included in the 500 stitch package.  Smile

I have tried to create a knitting pattern. A knitted stich is longer than it is wide. Is my pattern going to have the right ration of height to length? The graph appears to have rectangles that are wider than they are tall.  Please help, and thanks so much.  Lisa

I posted one FREE book on making paper beads for Kindle for today...grab it before it's gone!  (Note: you do not need to have an actual Kindle.  If you have a smartphone, you can download a Kindle reader app for FREE...if all you have is a PC, you can download to your PC...and I believe there may also be a way now of completely bypassing any kind of reader app to read directly online - though please don't quote me on that, as I'm not sure.  I find the PC reader to be quite decent for pattern content...since I don't own a Kindle, I can't say how well it works...but I would think a smaller screen would make patterns kind of difficult to read.)
