New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Is there a magic formula for conveting the stitch counts by color into how much yarn is needed? Thanks in advance!

Hi, pdevine.
I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind sending a copy of your image so I can try it out. I might be able to give you some settings that work or, if I find that there's something in the program that is causing a problem, I can fix it.
If you wouldn't mind, I can send you an email to which you can reply and attach your image.
I always want to be sure the problem is not the program.

p.s. As I complete the testing a completely new re-write of the graphics engine that does all the work in the freePatternWizard, I can also tell you that it handles colors and operations differently and some existing problems will go away. But in the meantime I want to make any changes/fixes necessary if the existing program has a problem.

Amber,
Welcome!
If you've
chosen "standard" stitch, that's single crochet. The reason it's
not called single crochet is because in the UK there's no such
thing as a single crochet - they call a single crochet a double
crochet...LOL, how is that for confusing?
Pondwater,
Welcome!
There is an
option in step #6 for number of stitches, which is set to default
to 80. Change that 80 to the number of stitches across that you
want. For example, if you want 20 stitches, you'd change 80 to
20.
HTH!
Rhannie,
Thank you for your
suggestion! I've notified Terry (Support) of your
message.
