New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Hi, All!
I've been collecting information relating to a few bugs and am going to go through my list and take care of them all. As I always say, if I can reproduce a problem, I can fix it. Some are obscure, others more common.
A few of the issues being fixed are:
Kathy,
Welcome!
So happy you did find hooking, LOL...it's a lot of fun!
What a great idea to use your time at home to be productive with your hooking.
Nothern Michigan...upper or lower peninsula? I hear it's beautiful in the upper peninsula and spots north in the lower peninsula. I was in Port Huron many years ago on a trip, crossing into Canada. We chose Port Huron figuring Detroit would have a lot of traffic. Port Huron definitely didn't have a lot of traffic!
Very glad you've found us! I can honestly tell you there's always something to learn with crochet. That's one of the joys! I've been crocheting for over 35 years (which means before I was born, because I'll only admit to being 25 years old ) and still learn new things!
Yes, you can edit your photo, though you'll have to use a graphics program for that. If you're on a PC I can give you the links to two very powerful (and free!) graphics programs, where you can remove the background before sending it through the freePatternWizard. I can't explain how to use either program because I use an ancient graphics program, circa 1998 or so. Well, it works, so that's what counts! LOL.

Wnewtn,
Welcome!
Thank you so
much for the great info - it's extremely helpful!
I'm familiar with Ann Benson books (they're wonderful!)
and that's a brilliant point about the Czech beads. Normally, Czech beads are more
irregular and don't work quite as well as a Japanese/Miyuki seed
bead for weaving that needs to be very even. Though they can work
the other way and give a charming, homey look to weaving, where
Miyuki might end up looking almost mass produced. And for bead
crochet, the Czech would certainly elevate any crochet project
because of their irregularity.
And you're
spot on about the durability. I love to knit, but it doesn't have
the sturdiness of crochet.
Feel free to post
pictures of your bead crochet (or any other beading) here!

Hi, All!
I've been collecting information relating to a few bugs and am going to go through my list and take care of them all. As I always say, if I can reproduce a problem, I can fix it. Some are obscure, others more common.
A few of the issues being fixed are:
- In beading, if you set a preference to not show the beads on the cover sheet of the pdf, the beads also go away on the pattern pages. The beads should still show on the pdf pattern pages regardless of this setting.
- When using manual color choices, the program sometimes only chooses a couple colors, and sometimes not even ones you've chosen. This is more prevalent in beading.
- The program sometimes introduces a gray color mainly when the image has no black and/or white.
- A couple other color choosing issues will be fixed.
Then hopefully during October we'll be turning on a new internal graphics engine and at that point pdf charts will be exactly pixel-for-pixel the same as what you see on the screen. Currently there can be a difference. The new engine has had extensive testing with one of our corporate clients and works well. This new engine will also eliminate future color-choosing bugs.
Thanks to those who have sent me reports, images and settings. Like I say, some problems only show up in specific combinations of settings. I want to get these bugs fixed before starting to enable new things!
I'll update everyone as I fix each bug.
Terry
