New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

Amanda,
Welcome! Smile
Please tell me if I'm understanding the problem correctly. You send a font through the freePatternWizard, but it's not turning out clear?
The problem with a font is if it has a bunch of thin lines it will be impossible for the freePatternWizard to see and replicate them. Something with, say, a sweeping script of wide and thin lines will only show the wide lines. The same goes for a font with very thin serifs.
If I'm correct above, then you may not be able to use the particular font you want to use. I know suitable fonts that are all thick lines are disappointing, especially when you have your heart set on a beautiful font, but some simply don't convert well. The freePatternWizard tries to make patterns based on what it sees and if lines are too thin, it won't see them as being part of the pattern, I'm sorry to say. Frown

the first pattern I did here was photo and turned out amazing! have not tested the colors yet but I am ecstatic with results, and on my cell phone not even computer

De'Andrea,

Awww, thank you so much for your kind words! KissKissKiss

We're so glad you find the freePatternWizard easy to use. Kiss We've looked at other software out there over the years and the same feedback we kept reading was that a lot of the programs are hard to use, because they have such a steep learning curve. We figured why should so much time be taken to learn a program when one can be made less complex? If you can't use a software package, what good does it do?

I personally never bought one for just those reasons.

We're very happy you've found us and I hope the freePatternWizard makes your tapestries so much more fun to work. Kiss

You definitely have a talent for beaded tapestries! Kiss And it's wonderful on this end seeing what you create! Kiss

Thank you again, De'Andrea! KissKissKiss

I am fairly new to the site, and have tried making a "test" pattern in order to understand how the pattern wizard works... i love the fact it includes the options for written, graph, or both. I can see this page is going to become a favorite. I had a question.... I realize its asking a lot for the pattern wizard to tell you how much yarn you are going to need to buy, but how do i know? Obviously larger projects will take more yarn, but how do i get an idea of about how much yarn i am looking for in each color? I have never tried a project like this and i dont want to end up buying out the store only to realize i have gotten too excited and ended up with too much of one color ill never use again. LOL

Thanks for your help in advance!!!
G

I'm glad to hear you are already working on this feature, as that is what I am trying to do as well. Smiley
