New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

Hi, thank you for your reply.

It's a shame you can't find my email. I hope I can remember everything I said.

I'm making crochet graphgans and I created an image that was 250 pixels across because I want to create a pattern that is 250 stitches across and so I thought this meant I would have control of each pixel.

I used nine colours in the design and asked the pattern wizard to use nine colours also, but when it created the pattern, it didn't turn out the way I expected. I tried various combinations and options, but nothing worked the way I wanted it to.

To try and explain, my design has black outlines that are 1 or 2 pixels wide, but the wizard added more black pixels into the design which made the black outlines thicker than intended. It also caused there to be 'orphan' stitches (meaning one stitch of a certain colour on it's own, which I wanted to avoid and had carefully designed the image so that it didn't have any orphan pixels).

So I was wondering if there was a way to have more control over how the pixels become stitches? I don't mind spending a long time working in my graphics programmes if it means I can get the control I need.

I bought the premium version because I thought I could sell the patterns I create, but if I can't create them the way I want them to look the software is useless to me. I'm really hoping you can help me please.

The other two things I wanted to ask about are as follows;

1) would there ever be a possibility to change individual pixels/stitches within the wizard (I understand this may be a limitation of the software because it's not a graphics programme).

2) would you consider adding a new range of yarn shades? I predominantly use Stylecraft Special DK and having their shades available in the designer would be awesome.

Hope that explains my situation adequately.

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this site, I just signed up about 10 minutes ago. I have been doing fractional cross  stitches for many years and i'm sorry but I must disagree that they are difficult. I have no problem doing them, if anyone wants help with figuring them out perhaps i can give some advice.

I created a pattern but some of the colors of DMC floss are no where to be purchased. Is there a way to exclude colors when generating a pattern?

Baquist here in sunny Colorado, new to the site and excited to meet everyone! Advanced beginner beader and intermediate crocheter. Best wishes to you all in these difficult times and please stay safe 😀

Kerry,

Welcome! Smile

I'm sorry to say we don't have a specific date yet for the live editing, so I would suggest holding off on that premier membership. Live editing is still in the testing phase and won't be released until it's fully ready. Smile

As of now, the software will only allow you to enter the number of stitches and not rows; the reason for this is originally we were concerned people would truncate or skew their patterns by choosing numbers that wouldn't work with their chosen images. This will change in a future version, either at the same time or before the live edit version is released.
