New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Hi,
A couple ideas.
First, starting with an image with so much detail will probably not work well if you're shrinking it down to 100x100. I just reduced your image to this size and you can see the loss in detail. (This is a 100x100 image but enlarged so you see the detail.)
Also, there are a lot of stray pixels which are probably introduced by changing the image size and/or the quality and makeup of the original image. For example, if taken from a printed form, images sometimes are screen printed and are made up of dots. These dots would be interpreted as different color pixels. One setting you might try is to turn on "Anti-alias" in section 8 of the program.
Just a few ideas.
Terry
Hi all, my name is Jodee, I am live in australia and i have just stumbled onto this site.
I have a huge question on making a 14 count transparent grid for a project i would love to do. the project is 40cm wide and 1metre long. My epson printer is not capable to print out a copy of the design due to its size and the detail would send it into a meltdown...
I have enquired in my town to see if they could print it onto aida cloth but was going to cost $400.... yeah not happening, So.. can anyone please guide me into making a transparent 14 count grid template that i can put over top of the original picture and happily recreate a massive masterpiece.
Please and Thankyou in advance
Melanie,
I agree totally, not only are some of us designers not rich, some of us are unemployed trying to earn a living from our designs.
That's why I decided not to waste anyone's time posting the details, unless someone specifically wants to know more about it.
MBarnes,
I'm sorry to say that our beta test of the 300 stitch width feature concluded as of November 1, 2015. The good news is that you can still subscribe to the 300 stitch wide feature or the 500 stitch wide feature, only both of them are now paid features, with very low introductory rates. You can find out about the services we're offering so far by reading about them on this page:
/community/2.0/message.php?t=1096&c=1&b=29
As I mentioned above, our introductory prices are quite reasonable, at the 300 stitch width for 2.99/year* and the 500 stitch width for $4.99/year*. Please note that if you choose the 500 stitch width option, you won't have to subscribe to the 300 stitch optionl, which is why the pricing structure is different for both of them, since one allows a larger number of stitches than the other.
You'll find all of the information about the change to the 300 stitch width option at the above link, and if you're interested in subscribing to any of our premier features, the direct link to our subscription page is here:
