New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

Thank you! I figured it out.

RGriffee,

You've been upgraded!

Debi,

Hi, and welcome!  Smile

I'm sorry to say that the freePatternWizard doesn't currently work for crewel patterns.  The closest it gets is counted cross stitch, which I know is far different (yes, I've done both).  I'm not sure if crewel will ever be an option, which is to say that whatever might become a feature for the program must be something that can work in math...that's the way the programming side works.  However, I'm not saying it's impossible, and I'm not an authority by any means on what will and won't work in math!  Smile  So that's the good news!  Smile

The best I can do is hand over your suggestion to Terry, e.g., Support, and see if there's something that can ultimately be done in that area.  Smile  It's definitely a great suggestion!  Smile

I posted one FREE soap making how-to book for Kindle for today...if you're interested, please grab it before it's gone!  (Note: you do not need to have an actual Kindle.  If you have a smartphone, you can download a Kindle reader app for FREE...if all you have is a PC, you can download to your PC...and I believe there may also be a way now of completely bypassing any kind of reader app to read directly online - though please don't quote me on that, as I'm not sure.  I find the PC reader to be quite decent for "how to" ebook content...since I don't own a Kindle, I can't say how well it works...but I would think a smaller screen would make a how-to book kind of difficult to read.)

Thank you!  She's my special little girl.  Smiley

I have Julia's book of beaded boxes and I've been afraid to start one.  I'm not sure if I understand the instructions.  I like your idea of a practice box though.  Wish I had thought of that!  I'll have to dig through my delicas and see what I have to work with.

If you make the boxes small enough (but not so small as to make them unwieldy), you can try out the instructions with a minimum of time commitment.  It looks so incredibly scary, doesn't it?!  Once you start working with the instructions, though, it's not hard at all.  The diagrams and words work well together to help explain what to do.  LOL, and then you have to choose which shape and which lid to make!

And I LOVE amulet bags!  Can't wait to see yours when they're done!

Thank you kindly!  These are taking a while, because each one needs a large number of rows...I forget how many...somewhere between 50 and 100.  Plus, I've misplaced my book!  Sad  So when I find the book, I can finally finish the bags.

I have a spiral in the works along with some herringbone ropes for a project out of a B&B magazine.

Ooh, which one?

I also have an ornament cover started that I may not have enough beads to finish!

ACK!  What are you going to do if you don't have enough beads?  Can you find something in a similar shade, or will you have to frog it?

And I have lots of projects I want to kit up and do, but haven't gotten around to it.   I am also a crocheter and stitcher and have been doing both of those mostly here lately.  There just aren't enough hours in the day!  :-)

There sure aren't!  Someone I used to know once said she needed a wife to take care of the tedious things so she could do what she wanted.  ;-)
