New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Line,
I'm so glad he loves it, though I do understand his little brother's feelings. Especially when they're young they can't understand why someone else might get a special gift!
Of course you're right to tell him he'll have to wait for his birthday...he has to learn this is the way things are.
Blurgh, I'm so with you on stitching parts together! I don't like joining anything together...side seams on garments, etc. All projects should either be worked in the round or be flat items, like scarves. LOL.
José,
Welcome!
Goodness, 3 kids, especially sons, are a lot of work! Glad you can still find some time for beading.
Those little beads really are addictive, aren't they? There's something so calming and yet so exciting about them.
Cuff bracelets are wonderful! Feel free to share some pics of your work so we can all drool! Peyote is my favorite stitch. I love the way those beads lock together to make the perfect piece!
Glad you were able to find some great patterns...we'll be revamping the entire mall at some point, so you'll see even more in the future!
How great that you're making your own patterns!
You tell me if there's anything my wife can't do lol because it doesn't look like it lol she's told me I have to upload some more patterns to her patterns waiting to be done album best do what the wife says I have uploaded 100 pattern photos to Neave's album pattern grids waiting to be done as I'm not sure how many photos Neave tends to upload into the album at any one time, yesterday I uploaded a large green mural of Stitch with Ohana on it into Neave's completed patterns album and the pattern itself into her album where she puts all the patterns once she has done them
Portia,
Welcome!
You actually can't click on the "learn" button utsekf...what you have to do is mouse over it and you'll get a clickable option immediately below the button that says "multimedia." Once you click on that, it will bring you to a page where you can search for videos, such as "crochet" (without the quotes).
Julie,
Since your picture is a pdf or similar file, insert the picture into a Word doc.
Then click "Format" from your main toolbar. Then "Remove Background".
(In my example, the pic had a border, but when I "removed background" only the part inside the dotted lines will be kept. You may need to play with it a bit.)
Your pic will have a dotted square within it, which you may need to pull out with the handles to encompass your pic. The part that appears in purple will be erased. You can mark areas you want to keep or remove from the toolbar above, then "keep changes".
Then resave your upgraded pic to a pdf etc file.
When you then pull that pic into the cross stitch program you will hopefully have no (or much less) background to deal with.
Hope this helps.
Janice
