New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

Priya,
You're so welcome! Kiss
Blending filament is a very, very thin thread, a with sparkle to it. If you buy from Kreinik it will likely be supplied on a thin spool. The idea behind it is to give your project a sparkle, or perhaps a sparkle with a tint. Unless you go for the braid version, your project probably calls for a single ply of filament along with your normal two ply of floss (or whatever your project calls for).
It isn't easy to work with, but if you're just using it for a smaller group of stitches, it shouldn't be too vexing. (I used it on a huge project and ended up abandoning it for way too long because even though it looks gorgeous, it's definitely a royal pain. Someday I'll pick it up again, but maybe in smaller amounts of time before taking short breaks in between working on it.)
Long ago I saw a pattern made up with one strand of pearl blending filament and two strands of white floss, to create a snowy field. The effect was gorgeous. The snow sparkled the way real freshly fallen snow sparkles.
So as much of a pain it is, it definitely is worth the effort. Kiss
DMC used to (decades ago) have a spool of a sort-of blending filament (sold on a regular thread spool), but it doesn't sparkle like the Kreinik. IMO, the Kreinik is more suited to such a project because this is exactly what it's made for.
Hope that helps!

Greetings, I am new to the site. I would like to create a blanket out of a perler bead pattern I have a PDF for but I am not sure how I can accomplish this. I posted for help on Facebook and was directed to this site. Stitchfiddle only does small images and that's not what I want. I want to create a blanket for a person and the blanket needs to be at least 6ft horizontally. I can't attach my picture, but if I could, I would show what I mean.

Hi.

I made several changes to Peyote and I know there was a color issue that should have been corrected.  I have not yet turned on the next version of software.

I expect to finally be able to do this shortly after the first of the year.

In the meantime, if you would like to try updated software, let me know and I'll unlock it for you to test.  This takes me a day or so and I can then send you a link.

Otherwise, like I say, it should be sometime early January when I enable the software.

Terry

Hi there hollybby18,

I've had the same problem with those stray pixels of color, we can't see them with our naked eye, but the program does pick them up.

I put my image into editing software (I use GIMP), and magnify it so I can clean them up. Basically just make them the same color as the one next to them.

Another option is to just leave it in the graph, but do your stitch in the appropriate color,

If you're working from a word chart, it helps to at least have the graph as well, so you can pull it up and look at it to determine if it's the right color.

I started out working from the word charts, but in time I realized that it's actually easier to work from the graph.

Hope this helps some.

Silvertiger,

Not bad at all!  Smile  Glad it's useful for someone, and it sounds like your nephew really does love it...so good job!  Smile
