New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Also...
I will also continue to work through some bug fixes and begin adding some new things.
A few intermittent problems regarding black and white colors are being addressed first. I made a couple changes and found two more related issues which are being addressed. I had hoped to get the first update enabled by now but with the two other issues, it will be just a bit longer.
Rest assured we're continuing to make fixes and updates while the Covid-19 has us locked down here in Illinois.
We'll keep you posted and you'll see update notices at the top of the freePatternWizard page as they come live.
Again, we wish you all the best of health.

Hello. I have a question please. I uploaded/downloaded the picture I wanted to crochet and downloaded/printed the written directions. It seemed like the written directions were off and I had to go back on several occasions so I wanted to ask the following question and hope it makes sense.
This would be a small sample as obviously each row is much longer:
Row 4: Medium Red (12), Light Orange (1)...
Row 5: White (1), Medium Red (6) …
Row 6: Medium Red (11), White (9), Medium Red (9)….
Row 7: Light Orange (1), White (9), Light Orange (1), Medium Red (4), White (11)….
When you have uploaded/downloaded pictures to crochet is the written pattern taking
into consideration that you are turning your work and then working back from the other side of your project ?
Or am I to look to the next row as an odd numbered row and read it from the end to the beginning? (i.e. on row 7 started at end of line and reading right to left White...Medium Red, Light Orange, White, Light Orange? (wild suggestion I know :O)
Hope that question makes sense. I am using a single crochet and I am counting my stitches etc but I don't know how/why but it just isn't working out right.
I assume it would be written exactly as I would crochet. Is it better to use the picture graph rather than the written instructions
Any suggestions and answers would be absolutely awesome as I don't really want to abandon the project.
Thank you!
Neave,
Thanks for letting me know! I don't want to be confusing, and I know that sometimes we don't share the same phrases.
Terry,
Having had a computer repair business at one time, I totally understand the time and complications involved in such an upgrade!
I pray all goes smoothly for you!
I think it's awesome you take the time to keep the users updated; I have been in environments that this was not the case and it caused a lot of problems.
Thanks for *everything* you do behind the scenes. I know that many people do not have any idea just how much time and work is involved in keeping sites like this, as well as programming PatternWizard, entails.
I got the hat done, 🙌 but here's the weird thing, I made the hat with the adult size, followed the pattern directly ( 96 stitches) and I couldn't get it on my head. But the one I made for (who is six) could fit it on perfectly. 🙅Weird huh?😒. I'm trying to add a picture but my new computer istnt letting me put one on unfortunately.
