New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Hello Beatrice,
Welcome, I'm from Tx. too. I have the same issue with the color blocks, I can't see them.
I made my own Cowboys pattern here, and chose the word chart because I find it's much easier than trying to see the blocks.
You can choose how many stitches you want across, but the program will choose how many rows so it doesn't look skewed.
So my advice is to make your pattern here, select 240 stitches, then select word chart.
Crochet stitches aren't square, so it probably won't be 240 rows, but it will look right.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, Debbie.
We just opened the left-handed option today. It's a setting users can turn on and off as desired. If they always want left-handed charts, they can enable a setting so the program will remember that they always want this (unless they turn it back off).
Thanks again for the comments.

What an awesome and pretty site. So people friendly and the visuals are extraordinary. I love to crochet, cross stitch, and do plastic canvas. I am a long-time (21 years) foster parent of teenagers so I find lots of things to make.
I am playing with the pattern wizard as I love, love, love graphgans. I also love making pillows but haven't figured out quite how to decrease the size yet. I need to ask for an upgrade to 300 stitches to increase the size of my afghans though as I want to make a wedding afghan for my brother and am playing with a wedding pic of Mickey and Minnie mouse. I'm struggling with using too many colors but then if I use less it doesn't look quite right...lol.
Anyways, hellooooo from Canada and thank you so much for this site. Can't believe it took me this long to find it.

I posted three FREE knitting patterns for Kindle for today...grab them before they're gone! (Note: you do not need to have an actual Kindle. If you have a smartphone, you can download a Kindle reader app for FREE...if all you have is a PC, you can download to your PC...and I believe there may also be a way now of completely bypassing any kind of reader app to read directly online - though please don't quote me on that, as I'm not sure. I find the PC reader to be quite decent for pattern content...since I don't own a Kindle, I can't say how well it works...but I would think a smaller screen would make patterns kind of difficult to read.)
