Thanks for letting me know about the sheep wool!  Though I'm not sure if sheep wool is available around here.    Does the dog hair spin by itself okay?  Or is it too delicate?

LOL, thank you...I'm not sure my spinning capabilities right from the start would be worthy of a good pattern!    So to compensate, I'm probably going to have to make something up for the first few attempts. 

I'm so glad you're working on your cowl pattern!    It's such a nice one.    I'm also developing a cowl pattern...LOL, stumbled on it when I was knitting a bottom piece for (of all things) a sweatshirt.  I had bought a sweatshirt from a garage sale ages ago, and it was cropped.  So it was pretty useless for wearing, as it's not very warm!  I decided to knit and then sew on a bottom piece, looked at it after I finished knitting, and thought, "Wow, a cowl!"    Who would have thought that would happen? 

That's wonderful how you can train your dog while walking her, and serve an extra purpose by relaxing her!    So do you pretty much keep up her training all the time?    I'm so glad you have a friend who can take over on your behalf, too. 

I understand...I don't trust a lot of people with our cat!  It's really hard to find someone who won't feed a dog or cat anything they beg for...I once knew a woman and used to watch her dog here and there for that very reason...everyone she knew would be sneaking the dog snacks as they cooked, and that would make the poor dog very, very sick.  But I don't do that kind of thing.  If they're not supposed to have it, I don't give it to them at all, no matter how much they beg.  I hate that I can't give them what they want, but to make a poor furchild sick over an unnecessary indulgence is something I want even less.  So I play the mean old mommy who won't give a furchild what they want!  My thanks is a healthy furchild. 

I'm sure it's a great relief to know someone understands how to be the pack leader with your dog and how to keep her happy.

LOL, isn't that odd about the cowl?  I would not think knitting a sweatshirt bottom would lead to a cowl pattern! 

I guess it will have to shed, then, at least until I can find a way to get some sheep's wool! 

I'm glad you can find ways to keep her interested enough to keep training her. 

Awww, I'm so glad your brother has such a good bond with her!    And it's so nice there are two people you can trust to help you with her!

LOL, with the cowl, it seemed to happen when I pulled the finished piece off of the knitting needles.  Looked at it and thought, "This looks like a cowl."  Then when I showed it to a friend, she said, "Oh, an eternity scarf!"  I wasn't wearing it at the time, just holding it!

I'll have to see if there's a sheep farm somewhere in the area, then.  Thanks for that idea!    There are farms, but I think they're more agricultural.  I've never seen sheep grazing or anything!  Horses...but not sheep.

Do you have a bunch of different routines that you make up, then, so you can go back to a different one that she may not remember quite so well?

As sad as I am sometimes that cats can't remember things very well, I'm also glad I don't have to keep varying routines!  Actually, since they like the same things, every day, every time, changes can cause quite the problem!  Try new food and, no pun intended, you are in the doghouse!    I get the, "are you trying to poison me, ma?" look.

Wow, then it's more like renewing what she's already learned and getting her better at it? 

Awwww, she's a lover!    Sounds like she wants to socialize.  Perhaps a playdate? 

She's crushing on those Golden Retrievers, hmm?    Maybe she's saying she wants a boyfriend? 

Awww, how cute that you clicker trained your cat!    Is she older?  Ours is an older girl...not sure exactly how old, but at least 7 or 8 years old, and probably closer to 10 or 11, maybe even older than that (rescue, so we don't know).  Can you teach older cats like that new tricks?  I'll tell you, though...she sure has us trained! 

When I was a kid, my father trained the cats to beg at the dinner table.  I would share my chair with my cat.  I'd sit on the edge of the chair and she'd take up most of the seat...not that I minded!  When my father would hold a piece of chicken or whatever up over my shoulder, the cat would sit up and take the morsel.  So adorable!    I still miss her, even though she's been gone a long time now.    Furchildren get into your heart and they never let go!

Oh, true...I didn't think about that, but yes, you can't really just let her play with other dogs all day!  And after everything you've told me about huskies, I can see why you can't let her run around off leash!

Oooh, I'm so glad a cat can be taught at any age!  That would be wonderful to teach our dear sweet girl something! 

LOL, yes, she's definitely always training us! 

Hee hee!  I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time...but how smart of your cat to divert your attention so you'd leave your food and she could eat it!

Cats are pretty smart...our girl is...though thankfully, we find she's mostly trustworthy.

LOL, you're so right about cats being smart!  They're so incredibly smart!  They figure things out that you'd think they couldn't!  

I think after we move will be the "purrfect" time to try clicker-training our cat!

Awww, I agree...it sounds like they're jealous!  Of course, we can't put our human emotions on them exactly...but it sounds pretty close, so they likely feel a little extra something for each other, which is super! 

We're very motivated to move, and once we can, the idea of clicker training our sweetie will give us something more to look forward to...thanks for the excellent suggestion! 

We're hoping that the change won't be too difficult for her.  She seems to adjust pretty well to most things.    My husband has said he's probably getting spoiled by her, as she's so well behaved and sweet tempered.  At one point, we brought her to a motel for a few days.  She was a bit spooked out the first day and hid a lot.  But after that, she just accepted that was her "home," though she of course couldn't understand why.  And she was very happy to get back to her "normal" home after that!

Are the rooms just too small for both kids to share?  Over the years I've known people from two different families where they had to share very small rooms.  One was my late friend Dottie's family, where her two sons had a bunk bed in their tiny Manhattan apartment.  And I'm not talking a family of short people, either!  Dottie was the shortest person in the family...at 5'8"!    (That's 172.72 centimeters or 1,72 meters.)  I don't know exactly how tall her sons are, but even when they were still in high school, they were pretty tall!

There was also my ex-boyfriend, who shared a room with his sister.  They lived in a tiny, tiny house.  I guess they got along okay!  They're still very close now; I'm guessing the deal was to get along or else, since the family lived in such close quarters!

I can completely understand your frustration.    It's so hard when you have no privacy at all! 

LOL, I love that video!  That is so like a cat!  They're not dumb...they know exactly what to do!    I forget how it goes and I know I wouldn't be able to find it, but there was a cartoon that a person had fallen off of a ladder and the cats are in the house saying something like, "Now who's going to open the cans?"
