Hi, I know there are conversions from knitting to crochet (and crochet to knitting)...I've never tried it myself, though.  There are books on the subject...the main issue with this particular one is that there's no comparable conversion of knitting stockinette and garter stitch to crochet.  Sad

I guess my best suggestion would be to either search online or check out conversion books and see if they have anything helpful to say about converting something like this.  LOL, now I'm going to be thinking about how on earth this kind of thing could be done...I wish I knew!  In crochet, your fabric is formed by things like single/double/treble crochet stitches, etc, and that's what I would normally suggest, is trying one knit stitch to one crochet stitch...but...you'll surely lose the lettering if you do a simple one to one, since there's really no such thing as a "purl" or different stitch in crochet.  Sad

There are several sites online that talk about it...here's one of them:

Additionally, have you looked around to see if anyone has come up with a way of crocheting letter squares like that?  You may not need to convert these particular patterns if you can find someone has already done this.  Smiley  For instance, this is a similar thing using two colors:

And here's another way to go about it, using cross stitch on crochet:

I hope some of these are helpful!  Smiley  I'll still try to do some thinking about it for you.  Smiley
