Hi! My name is Kristy but I go by Stitches so either one will work. I have been cross stitching for about 30 years. I know I am old...lol. My mom taught me. Anyhow. I am a work at home mom and LOVE cross stitching. I know duh right?  Other things I do....play video games, read, write (I am a published author). I usually work on more than one project at a time. Right now I am working on 5 Harry Potter themed pieces for my best friend's upcoming FIRST baby shower!

I am partial to geek stuff so my works usually are geek related. I am so glad to have found you all and looking forward to meeting some friends who also cross stitch!!

Welcome! Smile So glad you found us!
From one geek to another, love that! Laughing Geekery is where the fun stuff is, IMO. And Harry Potter themed pieces, wow, fascinating!
Though I personally can't admit to being old because even though I've been stitching for over 30 years Embarassed, I'm not a day over 25. I swear! Matter of fact, this year I'll turn...25. Laughing
What genre do you write? I mostly write fiction, though am not (yet) published.

I mainly write fiction-fantasy and sci-fi, but leaning more toward fantasy. The books I have published are vampire themed though...lol. LOVE it that I have met another geek so soon!!! Once I get past the background and into the picture part of them I will post them in the WIP. I am so glad to be here and thank you for the warm welcome!!

Vampires are hot! Wink I love fantasy and sci-fi...my favorite genres!
Can't wait to see what you're making...if you have pics of any finished works you'd like to post, please do, so we can all drool! Laughing Cross stitch is so wonderfully versatile, from big projects to small...there's a never-ending variety. And what makes it fun to see what people have made.
I've actually thought of taking some of my cross stitch and printing it onto iron-on material. Years ago, before that was so easy, I went to a copy place and got many photocopies of my work to put up on the walls at the office. LOL, it looked just like the real thing, so much, one of the pieces had a stray thread on it that I was always trying to brush away. Wink I love the idea of wearing my work, but not enough to wear the actual items (because you KNOW that's where any stains will land, of course!).

I am actually in the process of writing a novel that is very loosely based on Alice in Wonderland. It's going to be a trilogy.

I am just about done with a few of my projects, but I may post in the WIP section so you all can predrool....lol
