Welcome!  Smile

At this time the freePatternWizard doesn't have the ability to edit patterns, though this is a feature that is in development.  In the meantime, you may want to choose a single color to represent several different symbols; for instance, if you have a letter A as a red and a letter B as a pink, you could choose one color that will be used for both A and B, rather than one color for each symbol.  In this way you can eliminate several of the "single" stitches by working blocks of similar colors as only one color.  Chances are that you'll probably never notice a difference, since you're likely more interested in focusing on your grandparents' faces and not your grandmother's dress!

Another alternative is to leave out the floral design on the dress entirely by making it one single color.  Say your grandmother's dress is navy could make the entire thing navy blue and not bother with the floral pattern at all.
