I've already spent many hours working on a cross-stitch project generated with the pattern wizard, only to find that the floss colors specified on the pattern don't actually match the colors of the original image. They're close, but overall quite noticeably greener. For example, what's blue in my image is supposed to be stitched with a turquoise floss. The even weirder part is that the colors of the actual pattern itself, as they're printed in the grid, DO match the original image. But the floss it tells me to use does not match.

I can't see any way to salvage the work at this point, so I'm pretty much resigned to starting over.

Anybody have any comments, thoughts, suggestions for next time?

Thanks for writing.

I want to look into this so if it's ok, Melanie will send you an email tonight. If you would be so kind as to forward a copy to her of your original image, I want to test it and correct the program if it's a bug.

Once in awhile someone comes up with something that doesn't work right and I always want to duplicate the problem so I can correct things.

That would be great. I can send you the original image, my generated pattern, and photos of the actual project so far.

Laura,

I did send you an email, so if you didn't get it, please let me know. The photos of the actual project aren't necessary, just the original image and whatever settings you used. The important thing is for us to step through and see where the software is failing. This is really the only way to correct the problem, because unless we know why it's happening, we can't fix it.
