Help support Loom Band designers and the looming community
October 29, 2015 at 1:52:48 PM

ladies and gents whether you are a loomer or not please read this, this was brought to my attention by a wonderful loom band designer Kate Schultz (Izzalicious Designs) on youtube and facebook please read this :

For ALL friends of mine who are interested in supporting the Rainbow Loom Designers who have had their work STOLEN by Russian Loomer, Sergey Patina, the following might be of interest to you. He's recently been featured in several newspaper articles and even on TV stations, where they make the claim that in the last year he's become the most popular Rainbow Loomer, even surpassing his American counterparts who've been doing this longer than him. What they fail to mention is that his entire portfolio of work are stolen designs from.. us. I have not seen an original piece of work on his YouTube channel.

Also, while many of us Designers are struggling to help make a living out of our craft to help support our families, this thief is making thousands upon thousands of dollars on our hard work. A design can take days to perfect, it can take hours and some times days to record, edit, and produce, then one has to launch it to the social media groups and assist with questions etc. A design does not simply just create itself.

The TV News Station that aired the story about this fabulous Russian Designer have a Facebook Page - https://www.facebook.com/gtrkpskov?hc_location=ufi ГТРК "Псков" then there's also the Hamley's group of toy shops that supported him Hamleys Regent Street, London Hamleys Russia Hamleys let them know your feelings about this, post on their sites!

The News story that they ran (yes you can click settings and make it show you the closed captions in English) https://www.youtube.com/watch… (9 minute 9 seconds mark is where the story begins)

AND if you'd like to see how much money this thief is making from our designs, then take a look at http://socialblade.com/youtube/user/lbandsru

ALL of the designs he's stolen are copyrighten. We all clearly state that our work can not be remade, redistributed, copied, reuploaded - the fact he thinks that copying our work into his own language and that giving the original designer credit in his description is sufficient, is a slap in the face. Reporting to YouTube will do nothing, as he's "remade" the video and isn't using any of our original footage or photo's.

Please support the original Designers of these works, boycott Sergey Patina and his channel, spread the word about his disgusting behaviour. To be lauded as a "hero" in his country when his reputation is built on the blood, sweat and tears of others, is a sham, a mockery and hurting the families of designers like myself and others - Crafting Fantastic Marloomz Creations Loombicious Izzalicious Designs Jordantine1 Looming WithCheryl to name a few.

Wish someone like the The Huffington Post would go into bat for us and spead the word

this man is nothing but a common thief and it's a disgrace that he is being praised and called a russian hero please help to stop this man

Neave,

You sure would!  Yell  We also don't know if he's paid them off or something...maybe someone owes him.  And either way, that's still ridiculous.  There's really no justification for stealing other people's work!  Yell

Neave,

I don't blame you...I wouldn't shop there, either, if it were a local store!  That's completely inexcusable for them to stand behind someone who would steal other people's work.

it infuriates me that such a well known global toy store would support a thief
