What Does This Program Do and Where Do I Start?
• What does this program do?

• Where can I find more information on using the freePatternWizard?
• Anything else I need to know in the beginning?
Q. What does this program do?
A. The freePatternWizard program allows you to upload a photo, image, drawing, or scan and create a beading, crochet, cross stitch, and/or knitting chart (pattern) from it. The program has a lot of options that give you a lot of flexibility. It may look complicated at first, but it's not. Read the next question and answer for more information.
Q. With all the options, it looks complicated. Do I need to fill in everything?
A. No! You can actually make your first pattern by doing three things!
STEP 1: Select your image by clicking the button in section 1 and choose which one you want.
STEP 2: Select a stitch category in section 2. That's really all you need to do!
STEP 3: Click on the "Let's See My Pattern!" button in section 9.
(All the rest of the options relate to fine-tuning but you can actually test it with the three steps I just gave!)
Q. Where can I find more information on using the freePatternWizard?
A. Several places. You may want to start by scanning through the frequently asked questions by clicking on the FAQs tab at the right side of the page. You can read another good step-by-step description here at the patternWizard by clicking on the Help option at the top. We step you through most of the options and how to use them. There's also a lot of additional information in our freePatternWizard Support Area in the Community. There you can post your own questions, discussions, and read other members' experiences and questions.
Q. Anything else I need to know in the beginning?
A. We strongly encourage you to register to have access to all the freePatternWizard features. Don't worry... membership is absolutely free, with no obligations! And since our beginning 13 years ago, we've never sent a single unsolicited email!
