Hello Everyone

I am new here.  My name is Kelley and I am a cross stitcher.  I am in the process of designing my newest grandbabys birth announcement.

I have 5 kids (all grown), 1 husband (not sure he is all grown yet), grandbaby #10 is due in October (a girl), 2 dogs, and 1 cat.  At the present time it is just me and hubby and the three furbabies living at home but that is subject to change since the kids keep coming home and then leaving again, lol.

If anyone knows where I can get a backstitch alphabet pattern that is in cursive, please let me know.  I need something a little elegant but not so elegant that you can't read it, lol.

Glad to be here and hope to get to know you all.

Kelley

Kelley,

Welcome!  Smile

How exciting that you're designing a birth announcement!

I found both an upper and lowercase cursive backstitch alphabet, available for free from the wonderful Connie Barwick of about.com.  Smile

Here's the uppercase chart:
http://crossstitch.about.com/od/patternsfromyourguide/ig/Alphabets-/Uppercase-Cursive-Alphabet.htm
And here's the lowercase chart:
http://crossstitch.about.com/od/patternsfromyourguide/ig/Alphabets-/Lowercase-BStitch-Alphabet.htm

Please do post pics of your finished announcement, as well as pics of your other work, so we can all drool!  Smile  And best of luck with the announcement...I've always had the most fun with designing.  Making other people's patterns is very enjoyable, but designing made it exciting, to see what was in my imagination turn into cross stitch!

Again, welcome!  Smile

Thank you so much for the links.  They are exactly what I was looking for.  Now if the dang bootie pattern would cooperate, I would be a happy camper, lol.

Kelley,

Thank you for letting me know the alphabets work for you!  Kiss  Glad I could be of assistance.  Smile

Are you crocheting the booties or sewing them?  I'm sorry the pattern won't cooperate...sigh, been there, done that.  Frown  Hope you can get it to start working right.  Kiss
